SATURDAY 6 JANUARY 2024
Mike was at the vet this morning with Flynn. He got in a tussle with Little Carmine yesterday and he had tufts of hair coming out when he came home. We could feel that he had two areas where there appeared to be dried blood matting the hair on his shoulder, but we couldn’t see the puncture marks. The vet confirmed he had three puncture marks. The vet didn’t say whether they were claws or teeth, and I’m not at all sure you can tell the difference. But, Flynn is feeling drowsy, and like the rest of the cats has been dozing al day.
He got a two week lasting antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory shot. Boy. Mike feels really bad about it all.
I found out this morning when Mike told me a more detailed story of the confrontation, that Flynn was eve more responsible than I thought yesterday. He ran after Eddie, intercepted Eddie and made Eddie come back inside the screened in porch. It was only then that Flynn slow-crawled towards Carmine, who wasn’t even looking at him. He chased Carmine and I guess eventually caught up with him.
