Amid the deluge of reports on a potential hostage deal, two events this weekend attested to the parties’ willingness to try to reach an agreement. The first was Hamas’ decision not to fan the flames on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa compound on the first Friday of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan,contrary to early assessments in Israel and the terror organization’s announcement Thursday evening, under international pressure, of its detailed response to the most recent hostage deal proposal.
